Time and circumstances can alter a person's perspective, let alone determine what is actually newsworthy.
Before the pandemic, many of us did not approve of remote work or blogging for a living. In fact, blogging, graphic designing (not web designing, but creating those fun logos people pay a lot of money for), creating and publishing digital goods did not flourish until the pandemic shook the entire world. Now, it's rare to be a writer and not blog for a living, whether it is on social media or through a hosting website. Writing takes guts...so what about being newsworthy?A newsworthy post varies from person to person. Think about it from a fresh angle, shall we? Today, guest posting is one of the most popular forms of online networking with other bloggers and brands. Smart writers network with each other and show camaraderie among their peers and projected audience. New or novice bloggers sometimes shy away from the opportunity because of their perception of what is and isn't good enough for their targeted site. Regardless of one's perspective, guest posting is a simple method of networking with other people. Writing in general helps us communicate our five senses with others, including aloof ideas or profound methods to solve certain phases of stupidity. Still, society and politics continue to question our purpose for writing and reporting what we see. Should bloggers consider themselves newsworthy, or amateur storytellers with an elaborate imagination? Articles vs. Blogs...I have made this mistake plenty of times, so don't worry. From freelancing via iWriter and Textbroker, to hunting for potential writer scraps on Indeed, I've preached until the cows came home that I was an article writer and blogger. It turns out there's a strong difference between the two. Article writers tend to publish mini novels on their website, ranging from 2,000 to 7,000 words per post. These writers are highly skilled and use a different, mostly professional and academic based, writing style and tone compared to a blog post. That's not to say bloggers cannot do what article writers do. It's simply a distinctive approach between certain types of text and targeted audiences. Bloggers keep their content conversational, casual, and chilled. Some booming companies expect bloggers to perform as article writers while keeping the tone conversational. In certain situations, that wouldn't work out for either side (depending on who's who in a given situation). Bloggers are more free to speak, or write, anything they feel or believe is true to them and their targeted audience. Wait, did you just TL;DR me?! Look, bloggers are fun and casual text messages you can send to just about anyone. Articles, however, are concrete and educational, like a brick withstanding the sands of time. Strong article writers know how to build a lasting and reusable foundation... in a second or third person tone. Summary...Blogging cannot compare to reliable newsworthiness. However... and I stress that so much... some writers can perfect the art of creating newsworthy content with concrete information and post a credible blog about it. Of course, this will not help one pass their final essay draft in college, but it is a great way to expand your mind and creativity through understanding the world we live in.
So, for all the rookie bloggers out there, there is a difference between article writing and blogging (oops)!
